Waiotahi Solar Farm, Bay of Plenty
In the sunny Bay of Plenty, 13km west of Opotiki, Lodestone’s Waiotahi Solar Farm, Te Herenga o Te Rā will be Aotearoa’s largest utility-scale solar farm when it is commissioned in Q4 2024. With 42MWDC/33MWAC capacity, it is large enough to supply at least 9,500 homes and small businesses.
Construction of the more than 71,000 solar panels started in November 2023 and brings together local
iwi, communities and construction partners, to produce an estimated 69GWh of power annually. Infratec is the bespoke EPC contractor for Lodestone.
