Latest News / Lighting up the Coromandel Peninsula – Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga completed

Our team has been working incredibly hard to bring this 33 MWp solar farm to life for Lodestone Energy – and we’re proud to share that it was officially completed at the end of January 2026.

Infratec’s delivery and commissioning teams have been working around the clock to get this project finished and handed over.  A huge shout-out to our lead contractors assisting Infratec in this project, PPS Fencing, Connell Contractors, New Energy, and their subcontractors, including Obertech, and the many others whose dedication made this possible.

Featuring 53,400 solar panels and 7,150 piles, Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga is expected to generate around 49 GWh of renewable electricity every year, enough to power the equivalent of around 6,800 homes.

For communities across Aotearoa, the shift to renewable energy is more important than ever as we work together to mitigate the impacts of climate change.  We’re particularly proud of how well Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga performed during recent flooding events in the area, demonstrating that solar energy can be an important enabler of community resilience.
