Infratec started construction on the 30MWp Cambridge (Matangi) solar farm in January 2026, and it is scheduled to be fully commissioned by early 2027.
The solar farm will comprise more than 45,000 solar panels that track the movement of the sun throughout the day, and the site is designed to accommodate livestock grazing alongside the solar infrastructure.
Once fully commissioned, the Cambridge solar farm will be owned and operated by NewPower energy. Infratec are looking forward to working alongside the local community and mana whenua to create a project that not only strengthens energy resilience in the region but provides meaningful benefits to the community.
