Wet weather on the morning of Wednesday 21 January 2026 did not deter attendees from the site blessing for our new 30MWp solar farm near Cambridge.
The blessing was organized in collaboration with the Wheki whānau and Te Iti o Hauā Marae, and involved kōrero acknowledging the long history of connection with the land and the partnership that is bringing the project to life, as well as turning a sod to prepare for the construction work that will be starting shortly.
A huge mihi to the Wheki whānau, Te Iti o Hauā Marae, and everyone at Infratec, NewPower and WEL Networks who helped organize this event. What a beautiful way to mark the start of this project, and we’re excited to get started on construction along with our delivery partners NewEnergy.
